You’d think we were going to a funeral
We’ve been living at Steph’s house in Calgary for the last week and tomorrow morning we’re leaving for our two week road trip/camping trip through the 8 most western states of the U.S. We’re really not that excited, which is a little surprising. Usually people who leave for a two week vacation act like kids who still believe in Santa clause on Christmas Eve, especially if they were going somewhere like California. But we’re mostly acting like a bunch of old men who are dreading the work week ahead as if tomorrow was Monday. I’m doing the exact same thing I would be doing on a Sunday night while tree planting, which is actually kind of sad. I guess we’ve been on the road for so long and seen and done so much that we think nothing is exciting anymore. But I really hope that’s not the case. Hopefully I’ll be jumping off the walls tomorrow morning.
Another thing I find kind of odd is that before leaving Timmins, we spent countless hours preparing, getting the truck ready and packing and right now, the truck is empty, we still have clothes in the washer and nothing is packed. Are we just unorganized and unprepared for the States or are we just so confident in ourselves that we decided to go with the flow and do most of the stuff last minute. I guess we’ll find out.
Ok, I lied, we’re kind of excited, but for a good reason. We found some pretty cool campsites. A couple campsites in California are right on the Pacific Ocean, and the weather will be much warmer than in Canada so we’ll be able to go swimming. Also, our campground in Las Vegas is on the strip. And when I say ‘on the strip’, I mean ‘on the strip’ – right behind Circus Circus.
We’ve added another cool gadget to our collection. Steph hooked us up with his satellite radio, so we’ll be able to listen to some cool tunes while cruising past palm trees and checking out the babes on the beaches.

well it’s friday night and we’re drinking and playing video games at Steph’s. We decided not to go camping tonight because apparently it’s the time of season where the grizzly bears are out and we would be camping in the middle of nowhere in the rockies. Since we only have nylon tents and grizzles are known to tear apart trailers and campers, we decided not to take a chance since we only have a pellet gun, bear bangers and my ninja skills. we’re probably going to go camping tomorrow though. anyways, i’m writing this post because we only had a bit of nachos for supper so we decided to order a 11.5lbs pizza from Vern’s VP Pizza in Calgary. the thing is huge and cost 50$. check out the pics, i think it’s the biggest pizza in the world.
